NPR Partners with Signature Wines to Offer NPR Commemorative Label Wines and Monthly Wine Club
HAYWARD, Calif. – December 1, 2003 - Signature Wines, a premier provider of custom, control and private label wines, and NPR (National Public Radio) today announced a partnership to offer NPR custom label wines and an NPR monthly wine club.
This week, NPR launched the NPR Vintage Collection, a series of wines bearing an NPR commemorative label. The wine is available through the NPR Shop at http://shop.npr.org/. The wine shop is powered by Signature Wines, which is the exclusive provider of wines for the NPR Vintage Collection. In creating the NPR Vintage Collection, Signature Wines worked together with NPR to source the wines that best meet the needs of the NPR audience.
The NPR Vintage Collection includes a limited portfolio of wines hand-picked from partner wineries such as Schramsberg, Roshambo, Burgess, Franciscan Oakville Estates, Ravenswood, Clos du Bois, Monticello, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Honig and Signature Wines' own award-winning brand Blackridge Canyon. Varietals offered include sparkling wine, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel from vineyards throughout California. Customers will be able to purchase wines from the NPR Vintage Collection in packages of four, six or twelve bottles.
In addition to purchasing wines from the NPR Vintage Collection, customers will be able to join the monthly NPR Wine Club and receive one NPR custom-labeled bottle and one additional bottle of wine each month from a large selection of national and international varietals. The NPR Wine Club offers two options for members with different price points: the Explorer Club series and the Cellar Club series. Each wine club program offers a choice of either two red varietals, or one red and one white varietal. In addition, NPR Wine Club members will receive discounts on reorders and case shipments, access to a wide portfolio of premium wines from around the world and a quarterly e-newsletter featuring wine updates and educational information.

According to MRI research, NPR listeners are 25 percent more likely than the average American consumer to purchase table wine. In addition, they consume wine in higher quantities. NPR listeners are 97 percent more likely to drink four or more glasses of wine a week.
