  • We'll be celebrating the harvest with our biggest all day party of the year!

Join us for some grape picking & stomping, bocce ball, and all around fun on the historic Wetzel Family Estate!

We're celebrating the 2016 harvest with our biggest party of the year. This all-day party is hosted by the Wetzel Family on their historic 600 acre estate in beautiful Alexander Valley.

Start the day at 8am in the vineyards where you'll pick grapes with Vineyard Manager Mark Houser, then we'll relax with a continental brunch. Next you'll follow your grapes to our crush pad where the Reverend Sally Hubbell will bless the grapes, ensuring a fantastic 2016 harvest.

After the picking and blessing, we'll challenge you to an old fashioned grape stomping contest - think vintage Lucy Ricardo - where teams compete for the title of Champion AVV Grape Stompers, with some fine prizes to encourage the rivalry.

Our picnic grounds are home to the fiercest competition of the day - bocce ball. Here you can test your skills with the best of AVV.  We round out the day with an old fashioned wine country barbecue paired with our favorite wines and music by Brother Cat. This five member band will get you up and dancing with their classic mix of blues, swing and rockin' soul.

Alexander Valley Vineyards is a family-owned and operated winery located in the heart of Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley, on the historic property originally settled in the 19th century by Cyrus Alexander, the valley’s namesake. Today the third generation of the Wetzel Family continues the tradition of family farming on the 600 acre property that stretches from the banks of the Russian River to the hills of the Mayacamas Mountains.

They produced their first estate wines in 1975 and quickly brought acclaim to the region with elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, luscious Chardonnay and a trio of spicy Zinfandels - Temptation, Sin and Redemption.

AVV’s vineyard practices were initially recognized by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance in March 2006 and they are one of 14 wineries recognized as a Sonoma Green Business.
