  • Set sail on the historic WWll Liberty Ship, SS Jeremiah O’Brien for a spectacular afternoon Bay Cruise and Wine Tasting. Take in stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, Bay Bridge and the San Francisco Skyline, while sipping wines from some of Northern California’s best wineries. 

    Enjoy a specially curated wine tasting featuring award-winning wines from Acacia Vineyards, Beaulieu Vineyard, Beringer Vineyards, Chateau St. Jean, Etude, Provenance Vineyards, Stags’ Leap Winery, Sterling Vineyards, and St. Clement Vineyards. Artisanal cheese courtesy of Nicasio Valley Cheese Company, with a delicious lunch provided by La Boulangerie. This summer wine tasting cruise is a supporting fundraiser for the National Liberty Ship Memorial that operates and maintains the SS Jeremiah O’Brien.

    During the cruise, guests will have the chance to explore this historic ship’s galley, crew quarters, gun mounts, exhibits and the triple expansion steam engine—all while enjoying spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay.

    The cruise departs from Pier 45 in Fisherman's Wharf and returns again to Pier 45. Under the command of Capt. LeSieur, the O'Brien sails out under the Golden Gate and back inside the bay continuing along the San Francisco waterfront for a remarkable view of the city by the bay. 

    Boarding 11:00 am, Sailing 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

    Your reservation for this cruise is not refundable unless The National Liberty Ship Memorial, Inc. must cancel the cruise for its own reasons.

    If you miss the cruise for any reason, you may request a credit to attend another cruise of equal or less value for up to one year from the date of the missed cruise.

    All passengers (except youth) must bring a valid photo ID on the day of the event. Any persons in your party under 18 are your responsibility while on board.

    There is no assigned seating, you are free to move about the ship. There is some seating limited to a first come, first served basis. Personal camping chairs are allowed.

    Please wear comfortable flat shoes and bring a jacket. Do not wear high heels or sandals.

    The ship is not wheelchair accessible. Guests must be able to traverse the 44-step gangway to get on board.


    Launched on June 19, 1943, the SS Jeremiah O'Brien is distinguished as being America's last unaltered Liberty Ship. A 441-foot veteran of the Normandy invasion, fully restored and maintained in her original condition, she is as functional today as when she served as a key component of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Bridge of Ships" in WWII. The ship is a National Historic Landmark. She and her triple expansion reciprocating steam engine are a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark.
