"Peace through wine, one glass at a time"

Page Mill Winery offers more than a dozen wines from local vineyards as well as appellations across the state. The winery is located in the Livermore Valley within minutes of the downtown shopping district. We would love to have you for a visit!

Page Mill Winery's motto is "Peace through wine, one glass at a time". They are one of the newest wineries in Livermore Valley, yet they have been producing wines for three decades. Winemaker Dick Stark and his wife, Ome started making wine in 1976 along Page Mill Road in Los Altos Hills at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains. He even excavated a large cellar under his home and planted vines in his yard. In 1992 his son Dane joined the team. Since a private home in Los Altos Hills was not the best place to grow a commercial winery, in 2004 Page Mill moved to their new location in Livermore Valley. Two years later they opened their tasting room at the winery.

The winery is located on Livermore Road near the corner of Concannon and Livermore to the east of downtown Livermore. Pulling into the winery on its gravel driveway you feel like you are arriving at a private home. But then you see the vines and the large stone Barrel Room that at one time served as an auto repair shop. The tasting room is tucked up the left side of the Barrel Room. The building to the left is their bottling facility. The tasting room continues with the style of the original operation on Page Mill Road. As you enter the tasting room you open the large redwood doors that were originally the entrance to the basement wine cellar in Los Altos Hills. The stain glass window on the side depicting vines was made by Ome.

Inside you will spy a long beautiful wine bar with friendly staff behind it ready to serve up a selection of Page Mill wines for visitors. Be sure to stroll to the back of the tasting room to admire more stain glass, including one showing the original basement entry to the Page Mill Road cellar, with the same doors you entered to this tasting room! In addition to the great selection of wines, you will love the great selection of wine accessories. Also be sure to check out the Olivina Olive Oil made especially for Page Mill Winery and the coffee custom made for Page Mill by Clayton Coffee and Tea in Modesto.

Page Mill believes that great wines start with great grapes. Each vineyard Page Mill winery works with has dedicated a portion of the vineyard to Page Mill so that the grapes come from the same vines each year. Dane makes the decision as to when to pick and personally supervises each harvest. He trucks the grapes in small lug boxes so that the grapes are completely whole when crushed at the winery. He also seeks out vineyards that utilize sustainable agriculture methods. His small Petite Sirah vineyards in front of the Barrel Room are the estate vineyards using organic farming techniques. Dane utilizes these grapes as part of his delicious Petite Sirah wine. Since the move to Livermore, Dane has come to greatly appreciate the quality of the fruit in Livermore Valley, to the point that with the 2010 harvest, 95% of the grapes used for Page Mill wines were from Livermore Valley.

Due to their original location in Los Altos Hills, they have developed a significant band of loyal wine lovers on the Peninsula. Page Mill meets their needs by participating in many events in that area, including the Los Altos Street Fair. On the third Sunday of every month, Dane invites wine lovers to the "BYOB" event at the winery. Bring your own empty bottle or purchase bottles at a reasonable price at the winery and fill them with a special wine Dane has for that day, for only $8.50 per bottle.

Visit Page Mill Winery at 1960 South Livermore Avenue and meet the winery cat, Charlie.
